Texel sheep stud owner Elizabeth McEwan feeds all of her lambs with Launchpad18 colostrum powder, the colostrum feed being instrumental to growing thriving lambs.
The McEwans Texel Stud is on 50 acres near Ashburton. Here they run 200 breeding ewes and rear 20-30 lambs by hand each year.
Heatwave Milk Warmer system
The lambs are fed adlib with a Heatwave Milk Warmer system – another plus for Elizabeth who no longer has to be physically present for scheduled feeding times.
In 2019, Elizabeth introduced new Launchpad18 colostrum powder to her rearing programme, on the recommendation of her AgriVantage consultant.

“When you make it up, it’s lovely and thick, just like ewe’s colostrum.
“Our lambs drink up the recommended 200mL feed in one go, no problem. Then we put them straight onto milk replacer.
